BETTER WORLD BETTY BOARD MEMBER OPPORTUNITYTreasurer.   Better World Betty is looking for enthusiastic ambassadors for the organization that have strong interpersonal skills, strategic minds, and a passion for doing community good.  Time commitment:  8-10 hrs/month

CLIPS BEER AND FILM NIGHT Volunteer – Fun and friendly volunteer pool of 70 folks need to host this fun New Belgium night of indie short film and fantastic craft beer from one helluva great company who cares about the planet and their people.  Happening Sept 11, 2015. Email teri@betterworldbetty.org Time commitment:  1-2 hrs prior; 1 6-hr shift night of event.

ZERO WASTE WARRIOR – Wanted: Community Recycling Advocates of all ages!  Find out more here.  Time commitment:  attend Recycling 101 90 min; then very flexible. Email Stephanie Wilson saw6mn@virginia.edu

PART-TIME VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR – Are you a people person?  Do you want to “give back” to the community in a meaningful way?  Better World Betty is looking for an enthusiastic individual to help us recruit, orient, lead, and reward our awesome volunteers!  Time commitment:  4 hrs/wk or 20 hrs/mo.  Email teri@betterworldbetty.org

COMMUNITY OUTREACH INTERNSHIP  JANUARY 2015 – MAY 2015:

Betty is currently looking for an enthusiastic change agent to work with her, her board, and her volunteer team to help execute Betty’s mission: to empower people and businesses with the tools they need to adopt more sustainable behaviors and to do it in a fast, fun, and friendly way. Time commitment: 4-8 hrs/wk.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participation in weekly check-ins
  • Assistance with fundraising research, strategies, implementation (e.g. grant research, writing, and reporting)
  • Event planning
  • Correspondence/Communication with sponsors, funders, board members, volunteers, general public (business letters, fliers, grants, summaries)
  • Online website content development and updates
  • Log of your volunteer hours
  • Brainstorm creative ways to inspire behavior change and ways to implement programs and generate funds, read grant proposals
  • Administrative Duties
  • Pick up/drop off items for events
  • Education and Advocacy on various aspects of eco-living
