Albemarle County Service Authority water conservation programs: (434) 977-4511. County residents may qualify for a $100 per toilet rebate (3 max). Call for pre-approval. Check here for all the details: http://www.acsanet.com/toilet.htm To pick up your free conservation kit stop by the ACSA offices at 168 Spotnap Road during office hours Monday through Friday 8 am to 5.
Charlottesville City water conservation programs: (434) 970-3333. The City has a $100 per toilet rebate and conservation kits. There is a rebate available for rain barrel use as well, located here. Also, there is a residential water use calculator that shows you how you’re doing. Check it out on the Charlottesville City Page.
Rivanna Conservation Society: (434) 977-4837, 108 5th Street SE, Charlottesville. RCS’s mission is to safeguard the ecological, recreational, historical, cultural and scenic resources of the Rivanna River and its tributaries. http://rivannariver.org/
Streamwatch: Charlottesville. With the help of dedicated volunteers, StreamWatch supplies data to the community to help facilitate wise management of the Rivanna watershed. Rose Brown (the zero trash lady) is the Executive Director. http://streamwatch.org/

Thomas Jefferson Soil & Water Conservation District: 434-975-0224 (Charlottesville office), 540-967-5940 (Louisa office). TJSWCD sells rain barrel kits with the necessary parts and instructions to construct at home for $75. Contact the office if you wish to purchase a rain barrel or are interested in workshop information. TJSWCD also has incentive funding for homeowners to install cisterns greater than 250 gallons. The Breathe Studio:  (434) 245-8080.  www.aplacetobreathe.com 4405 Ivy Commons We have yoga and meditation classes that we teach here at the studio, but we also go out to community centers and senior living communities and teach there as well.  One of our missions is to bring meditation and yoga to a wider audience to relief stress and help all of us relax in our busy world.  In addition to teaching, we have also partnered with Savvy Rest Seep Company and re-purposed their organically grown latex to create WONDERFUL support meditation cushions.  We also created a larger base cushion made out of the organically grown latex and coir (coconut shell fiber).
